Not sure when this came available but I cannot find this tire anywhere.

17343DR2 P325/45R18 29.99"

You need a 18x10" rim or up to 18x12" rim. Measured on 11" rim.

The question that I don't know much about is what offset would you need to get this to work out.

I haven't seen this drag radial posted before so I wonder if it's new or what. Google doesn't help much. The fact that it's a 30" tall drag radial for an 18" tire is PERFECT!

I'd bet anything a 2wd eco truck could yank a low 1.7 on these bad boys.

Yup... they don't show on their PDF link: https://www.hoosiertire.com/pdfs/specdrag.pdf

This is a new tire.

and it's absolutely PERFECT. I'm in Loooooooooove.

I can pick up a set of 18x10 rims for less than $500 but I bet you anything these things will be 300+ a piece.

$1200 for a set of these and rims.... hmm..... the ability to drop your 1/4 mile time by .3-.4.... good mod :)

....but how could you without 4.10 gears????
I wasn't going to because of the tire selection limited to 28" tall max.....

now with this the 4.10s become an option again! haha.

4.10 doesn't jive with my 150mph goal. Everyone wants 1/4 mile.... I want to be the fastest ecoboost F150. I'll actually need to get a 32.5" tire and a 3.15 gear to make that goal.

But a 3.15 would work out with the 1/4 mile and allow trap in 3rd gear. So only using 3 gears would cut out some time from the 3-4 shift. and a 3.15 with 30" drag radial will let me trap at 5700rpm at 103mph which is feasible for a tune only truck. So the 3.15 would work for a 150mph speed run and drag race.

Now it doesn't work when you expect faster times in either category.

...and I just quoted myself in the same thread I responded to first :p

Talley: Most good tire websites can help with computing the backspacing. I think Tire Rack's website had one where I could put my stock dimensions and then use it to compute the proper backspacing. It was a while ago I too looked exactly into what you are doing and contemplating the same thing. (That's scary).

Also, consider talking to a tire shop and ask them to confirm the backspacing.
Ya I'll have to do just that. Seems as there is only about 1.5" of space from the stock tire to shock spacing with the stock 265/65/18s.

ok... In 15 minutes I learned more than I want to know about wheels lol.

Looks like I found some cheapies: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/rlw-89180065/overview/

18x10 with -6mm offset producing backspacing of 5.25". This rim will give a good clearance for a wide tire.... not hit the shock.... but will push the rim 3" further out then the stock rim.

Now I need to measure the stock rim/tire and see if it's gonna stick out like a sore thumb.

Problem is mounting a 325/45 it's not gonna have too much tire bulge and will be a lower profile and will be WIDE lol. I think this will look kinda funky but I'm going for performance.

I'd also get a 275/55R18 which is also 30" tire for the front. This way there is no issue with abs.

Here is another tire thats available now. M/T 305/45/18. It's a 29" tire.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mtt-3786r/overview/

I got no issues going with a 29". So $1011 for two rims and the drag radials and then probably some more to mount/balance. about $1100 total. Thats half the price of turbo's ugh.

Oh well... gotta pay to play. I would have zero traction issues. I wonder how much boost these things would let build before they start to slip.

Found a hoosier slick that would work.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/hoo-18157/overview/

28" tall on a 17" rim and requires a 17x8 rim at the minimum... up to a 17x10 at the max.

I wouldn't mind this tire either and could potentially be the cheapest option for a NEW tire.

UPDATE: Found a rim that is cheap and will work great....

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pro-Comp-Al...olished-10-/191352461209?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Wheels&hash=item2c8d7ed799&vxp=mtr

Pro comp 17x9.

So for right at $700 you have a 28" slick 10" wide.... and will hook like no other. Now to find out how to get this for $500 :)

Have you thought of smaller tires to get an effective gear ratio of 4.10 that you are seeking?

PS: I the tires stick out ... just add some flairs.

Wasn't seeking 4.10s. Was seeking 5500rpm at trap. Doesn't matter what gear/tire combo I use to get there.

Just get some crazy offset wheels and add a sticker that reads "because race truck"
I don't want it to be ghetto man. I'm not sure how to visualize it but hopefully from what I've learned the math works. I'll definitely get a tire shop to confirm.

Seems the best route is the 28" slicks on 17x8 rims. Good light combo for about $700.

THis is the same wheel I am picking up there tomorrow (its 10 min from my house lol) for my DR's. I'll be ready to run next Friday night, any chance of you coming up for Fun Ford Weekend?
OK good... should work then. No I cannot... my daughters birthday. Keep us posted on your results. I want to do the 28" Hoosier slick... just hope the track doesn't get too analysis about no loop installed...

150mph? Yikes, I have had mine to 120ish+ Truck starts getting a little floaty! Mine is a 2wd and dropped 2" Better set it in the weeds first.
Sure wish there was a way to make the steering a little less sensitive at high speeds.
it's the suspension. stiff shocks and 900lb springs up front will help that.

$262ea from summit.

FYI.

I gotta push through the summer but I'll def buy me a set of these and some 18x10s to go with them this fall. This will be a $1000 mod for me that will significantly drop my times. 30" tall you just can't beat it.
