Well after reading around the forums I decided to get just a Stainless steel downpipe for now and leave the stock catback. Bought MBRP off of amazon for 450 shipped. Installed it Saturday in 4 hours wasn't rushing and didn't really run into any problems other than the one side turbo flange bolt is a pita to get to. I took a video yesterday I saw there was a database of exhaust vids on the site dunno if I should post this up there because I couldn't find any good videos of offroad downpipe with Stock catback online anywhere..

So here is a sound clip of the exhaust with the stock catback.

My Catback is stock. and My tuner eliminates the codes. AS far as spooling faster it is more responsive and sorta feels like it changes the area where power comes on a bit. it Spun the tires at 40mph in the rain today..

Now just wondering if I should buy that stage 2 afe intake or Put a Detroit tru trac in the truck.. lol junkie open rear end deal..

You think that small section of 2.5" pipe/ resonator is enough restriction for it to be worth while to change to a 3" cat back and or either put a piece of 3" pipe to the muffler?

Thanx for all the replies I like how the exhaust sounds now. and sorry for the multiple posts how do you post multiple quotes to one post?

Idk how restricted it is. .. but sound wise it makes the exhaust more raspy. I replaced it with 3 inch pipe.

Got a question for you guys after you installed the offroad downpipes going down the road like 70 mph. Partial throttle it just doesn't do anything until I give it like 50% gas then it'll downshift and go. I think this is a tuning thing do you guys have the same symptoms?

Does this down pipe eliminate the front cats? For an off-road aftermarket piece I'm assuming so. Will your vehicle still pass emissions tests? Do they perform emission tests in Delaware?

I have a mustang with offroad exhaust that is much louder and "smellier" than the truck with exhaust and it's passed every time. I see no problem with just a downpipe. But I don't have to worry about that for 4 more years..

Your mustang isn't direct injection. Mine smokes like a diesel at startup and blows a nice cloud at WOT. We don't have emissions testing here but I can't imagine it passing the sniffer.

Here is a couple videos it's hard to get the sound of the whistle over all the other noise.. the camera is crappy also. First video is just normal driving second I am holding second gear with a few stab's of the gas and the last is a wot spinning/having fun run. Any other requests let me know.. thanx

I can do that, so to be specific you want the person to be standing out side of the vehicle recording all of that correct. I'll see if I can get my brother to come with me and do it.. also he just bought some go pro thing for his cts-v see if he'll let me use it..lol It's supposed to be like 55 here tomorrow I'll get better traction wot.

While I'm at I'll try to get some drive by vids also from that outside the truck perspective.

That sounds exactly like what I'm hoping mine will sound like one day. Awesome! :D
Do you have a tune with this setup?

Sounds good. It will be louder in person. I could post videos of my interior and you can hear the key chain rattling it sounds so quiet on video. In person it's much different .
