So I have been working on my truck in Hawaii with MPT in Florida so the time difference is hassle. But let me tell you with absolute confidence that MPT has got to be the best. But let me also add that getting a dragy for a 150$ really helps dial in the tunes. I built my truck for towing regularly and couldn’t resist adding well over 100 Hp at the wheels for 6-700$ when I got my first tune I was pretty much set and extremely happy. I hate computers I’m of the generation that is supposed to be affluent in them. Just made 40 I absolutely stink at them. Especially windows. Anyway I decided I’d data log and had a couple requests of what I’d like to adjust if possible. So I sent my data logs and the next day I had a new email with adjusted tune. Not exaggerating at all it was so much better. Free data log adjustments for 30 days. I encourage you to take full advantage. Also can’t say enough about the dragy helping rather than butt dyno. I’m on my 8th version and with only a tune and cold air intake which we all know is for sound I ran in the 11s with subwoofers and bone stock other than tune. Because I was so into data logging and leaving truck mostly stock MPT posted on their website my first day at the track. It thes silver 4door 4x4. Just tonight I did some data logging and I ran an 11.8 0-60 3.55 on 33in all terrains. I tested the draggy against the the track timer and within average of 3 hundredths of second on all 8 runs I’ve done. And always the dragy was slightly slower.

MPT will adjust, and from what it seems MPT is the best. The guys at Full Race have him do their tuning. They made my daily truck that is 4door stock tires stock turbos stock muffler and tow package run 11s and 0-60 in 3.5-3.85 from full dig. 19,000 miles running prx. 44k total.

I mainly want to do this for a better driving experience and to get my moneys worth out of the premium fuel I use in it after my mechanic recommended only premium in these 1st gen EcoBoost.
Premium probably gives you an extra 20hp and it’s much safer as far as avoiding knock. I wouldn’t worry about getting a custom tune that acts like a pedal commander and makes transmission response better, and definitely stay in the safe zone.

Is your truck and trans tuned? It really seems like the tuned trucks have less trans issues. They increase the fluid pressure and it engages clutch packs with more lintent and doesn’t skip gears so doesn’t look for gears.

Both great companies and people, both companies will adjust and fine-tune through data logging. I've ran both on multiple different trucks and personally for me at least 5 Star has always been more refined in the transmission. This was after at least a dozen revisions from each company.
I think for most people you really can't go wrong with either
