Out with the old, wobbly, falling apart wood unit, in with the new Gladiator storage unit (Home Depot). At least now it won’t be obvious I’m storing the wife’s cleaning stuff and old beach towels!

Someone dented it.
Shipping. The box when I picked it up was war wounded. I decided to accept it anyway. I straightened more corners and edges than a care to admit.

Side bar - kinda related.
I was looking at some gun storage cabinets and safes online and regardless of where I looked, there were negative reviews about the units damaged in shipping. Even people picking up fully assembled cabinets were commenting that the units were dented and banged up.
Larger safes delivered by frieght seemed to fair better, but I still saw negative reviews about damage.
It’s a tough life for a metal storage cabinet before it finds a home or garage to settle down in.

And new Craftsman tool cabinet with top box combo! I’m looking forward to getting even more organized! Edit - Units were on sale as a combo at Lowe's. About $150 off the set.

Grounding of the tool cabinet and top box - the manual has a section where to connect the ground straps to the cabinet and top box, then just says “terminate the end of the ground wire to an appropriate grounding location”.
Where is, what would be, an appropriate location in a garage with an epoxy floor and sheetrock walls?
Is grounding necessary?

Organized the top of the top box; ran power to the top and bottom box outlets. Using the top box top for power tool and battery storage / charging. And a place to park mini-me F150.

Today I attempted to restripe my tailgate; it worked “ok” but had too many bubbles for my liking. So, I peeled it off and applied it to my tool box long drawer!

PS. Also note the new red lockbox box of locks.

PSS. I planned ahead and bought two stripes; will take new one and truck to body shop and pay them to apply it.
