Well I am actually currently in a Kodiak Brown Platinum and as beautiful as the truck is, I'm trading it in on a KingRanch that I ordered a couple of months ago. (which still hasn't been slotted for a build by Ford)
When I became convinced that the Powerboost was a keeper, I decided that I may as well get one configured EXACTLY like I want. Platinum just isn't my preference so I'm going back to KingRanch in the traditional White/Caribou and with the 6.5' bed. And although the dark interior is very very nice, I'm a brown cowboy boot guy.
Had to skip the FX4 in order to try out the active suspension and the onboard scales. Fingers crossed that it works good enough to live with, but I'm a bit pessimistic. I'm so spoiled with really good truck suspension, especially when towing.

The massaging seats are more than just a luxury to me. I've had them since Nov 2017 and on trips longer than 3 or 4 hours they are therapeutic for these old bones. :)

Its definitely a Ford marketing thing?....I mean seriously why not have the ability to build a PowerBoost that at least has the Payload Package available , let alone ordering a HDPP!
I get it....its creeping into F250 territory as it is.
What is very interesting to me is that you can purchase a 2022 Ford F150 Tremor with towing capabilities almost similar to my `14 minus the tow mirrors?> strange. You also get some serious Raptor suspension parts with super capable; shocks, rims & tires [emoji106]
Too bad a person cannot order a Tremor with the PowerBoost on board generator system> bummer.
I've done a lot of reading on the F150 Tremor.....and it's one mighty 1/2 ton. I find myself seriously thinking about moving up to a 5th wheel in a couple years and that would put me in F250-350 territory.
But wait> Ford has done it to me again-lol....just when I'm thinking about the PowerStroke again ( was suppose to be shopping & purchase a diesel in `14 [emoji848] ) , they come out with the 7.3 gasser and a 4:30 gear set....throwing that into the mix?!
I hope 2022 is a drama less towing season![emoji1696]... so I don't have to shop for a new truck , because mine is so versatile and fun to drive with all the mods.....and money spent[emoji15][emoji16]

If they don't ever offer the Powerboost in HDPP, I WILL move up to a ProPower onboard F250 7.3

Oh wait, they don't make that yet either. :(
The propower F250 sounds more realistic though. Its handy for a lot of things.

It does, doesn't it?
I mean that's their fleet motor. And the SuperDuty is a platform carrying around all kinds of commercial gear in the bed. Compressors, welders, saws,.... GENERATORS... :)

Whether they do it or not you know we didn't think of it first here. It's been discussed and pondered in the walls of Ford. But not even a leak or rumor yet? At least I haven't seen one. I'm surprised since Ford has expressed surprise at the demand for the Powerboost. I think they consider it a success at this point. It was the straw that finally killed the F150 Powerstroke. (my perspective)

GM is going to claim 20000 pounds towing capacity in a version of their E-truck. They didn't say that version will be a 1500.
I saw that. Crazy.

If you look, the one they released has 8 lug wheels like a 3/4 ton.

Can tow 20k for 30 miles. Ha

It's not the huge tonnage it can tow. It's how far you can tow before shutting down to recharge.

And in the expanse of the great Southwest where gas pumps aren't extremely plentiful, there will be even fewer fast charging stations.

Since I'm expecting the lariat I ordered to arrive shortly, I decided to do the payload calculation based on the 2021 reference provided by Snakebitten:

It's going to be close, but I'm dropping down to one battery and moving it to the back of the travel trailer and going back to 20 gallon propane bottles from the 30 gal I'm using now.

I have about 80 lbs of gear in front pass through storage, so I may have to convert one of the bunks to storage...

We'll see how close the numbers are when the vehicle gets here. Saw a post on another forum where 502A PB w/FX4 and Max Tow was at 1220 lbs which has me a bit worried...

Update: Ended up being 1444 lbs when truck arrived at dealer. Still plan on changing from two 6V batteries to one 12V battery and switch to 20 lb propane tanks to drop a few lb. from tongue weight.
I switched from dual lead acid batteries to a single LiFePO4 that I mounted inside of the trailer at the back. This effectively removed 90 lbs of battery from the tongue, but it also actually unloaded the tongue by probably another 20 lbs or so since the battery is now behind the axles. So I am guessing my trailer is running about 100 lbs lighter on the tongue now. Part of that was offset by the fact that I am running dual 40 lb tanks vs only having one before.

My battery capacity increased conservatively by ~40% and I went from 90 lbs to 45 lbs total battery weight.

Its worth a look. The side benefit being the battery is stored inside and out of the cold.

For what it is worth I towed this trailer more than 250miles. The tongue weight was 450-500lbs. The dry trailer weight was 4,140lbs. W/ a full water tank and some gear, the trailer weighed around 5k lbs. I also had approx. another 500lbs of payload in the truck (including passengers). A WDH was necessary. Especially for managing winds. The truck had beyond enough power to pull. However, you do feel the trailer sway in crosswinds or passing semis. If this was my trailer I would invest in a better WDH setup. This is as heavy of a rig that I'd be "ok" with not being hyper about how I pack the truck and trailer up. Lastly, I highly recommend using side view mirror extenders or installing tow mirrors.....You cannot see anything towards the back of the trailer.

My trucks payload number is fairly low. I do not think there is anyway I could pack up my whole family with gear plus the trailer without exceeding or coming close to exceeding its payload. Especially, with a heavier trailer. My truck has the trailer tow package. Not the Max tow package. While this truck is "rated" to tow over 9k lbs I really do not see how I could do that after pulling this trailer around for the last few days.

THE ONBOARD GENERATOR WORKS AMAZING!!!! We ran the trailer for 3 days straight.

Beautiful truck!
If you were going to continue to tow that RV you could address a few things on the truck that would add "stability" to the towing experience.
Sure, it wouldn't increase your Payload but it would enhance how well the truck carries its Payload.

Regardless, it sounds like Yaw had a good time.
