Spyder Bull Bar

Hmmm. Money aside...spyder is what I'd go with. Absolutely. I mean, u see traditional bull bars all over...how many spyders do u ever see? At least where I am anyhow.

Watch your top knot.
Not me....I try to look the same as everyone else.....LOL.....

Yeah, either color match or black the bumper first IMHO

Me either (build in progress *budget pending*), I blacked it out with plasti dip just to see how it looked.... Didn't look so hot.

I did my headlight retro first because the stock halogens were pathetic as far as light output goes.

Like mentioned above, either off road bumpers with matches grille surround. Or matched bumpers and grill surround with a bull bar.

Can't decide which route I want to take

Hey mad, vol was just saying that KC is comin out with some sweet led replacements for the apolo halogen lights. I seen em for $118/pair which is cheap. Idk what the led price will be but that's always an option. And ya. Others will buy these spyders I bet. They're the tits

Awesome Mike! and yeah....for a little over a hundred bucks, you can have a nice pair of halogen KC's (23 year warranty), and upgrade them to the LED later if/when you ever wanted to.

That was actually going to be my next post!

"Soooo about some lights...??"

So they make a led upgrade for the standard kc's?

Coming this summer. PM me if you want some help finding a good deal on the KC's.

Any idea on the price of the upgrade?

Just trying to decide if it would be better to go led from the start.

Not yet....but (so far) I haven't seen any good looking (IMHO) round LED off-road lights in 6" or larger....yet.....just depends on what you want it to look like in combination of what you want it to perform like.....

IMHO....you will be pleasantly surprised at the results you get from a GOOD pair of QUALITY halogens...and you're not spending enough money to be sick over it if you don't think they're "super awesome". But, they will come on almost as quickly as an LED, and have damn good output for the money spent.

What about Lc's lzr lights? They are led, I have not looked Into off road lighting much. Just going off a couple quick google searches.

LZR bars are going to be superseded by the new reverse firing reflector LED's, with the exception of the 3" cube and the 4" round. If you want a 10"-30" bar style LED, get the C-Series. Better deal for less money.

I was just thinking of putting 2 either round or square lights on the bull bar.

I didn't really give any thought to the bar style lights.

Did you check the spacing on the tabs? You might want to wait until you get it. I think a 3" cube is gonna look tiny of that thing.

True! I didn't account for the ratio of housing size to the size of the bar.

I'm just leaning more towards led so it will be a closer color match to my headlights.

You have factory HID ?

Nope, I did a retro.

5000k is supposed to be pure white but it's got a good bit of blue in it.

OK....you might also think about these....you can get a pair for just barely over 300, and I think they would be a close color match....and IMHO be "better" for what you're trying to accomplish: 6" Pro-Sport HID Pair Pack System

Ok the link is to a pair of KC Pro Sport HID driving lights. 5000K. Same thing as on my truck except 6" version.

Good job Mike. I think if it were me, I would do the LED fog bucket retro to go with your HID spots. Then you would only have one pair of 8" HID's on the bar, and you have to do a double take to notice the fogs.

How hard/ how much for the led fog retro?

Easy Peezy retro. I think I posted on my build thread. The lights aren't cheap, but good ain't cheap....and they are really GOOD. I mounted mine fairly far forward in the bucket so I had more ability/choice of aim, but you can mount them farther back if you wanted to be a little more stealthy. These will give you that closer in peripheral to fill in where your HID spots are going to shoot past.

These guys have some good prices on KC. Use Coupon code ECO300 at checkout: KC HiLites 300 - KC LZR Series LED Off Road Driving Light - Truck Pro USA

I will have to check out your thread when I get off work today.

I swear you guys are trying to get me a divorce! Spending all this money on my truck :)

I may have to put the fogs on the back burner go now.

I think I may have to ptm the bumpers and grille first. The mis matched shades of white will probably drive me nuts.

I hear ya man!

I need to stay off your build thread... Why did u tell me to look there:(

It made me order a bullet antenna, and really thinking about that putco grille. It's the only mesh grille I like. How hard was the install?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Not too difficult but it is a "cut out" style. Biggest pain is getting the grille shell out without breaking any clips. Ford put more than enough fasteners in that thing.

FYI that grille isn't cheap, but don't confuse it with those "screen porch" grilles that you see around. It's very heavy, thick, machined aluminum.

Haha! Yeah iphone camera is not too fond of pics that time of day.

I still think 6" would probably look better like this pic.
