okay, been a week now with NO NOISE! Looks like the TSB fixed my issue and I'm having fun again in my truck! Good luck to those still wrestling with the issue.

That's great news srs77! I just dropped mine off at the dealership to see if they can figure it out. I am going to tell them about the TSB you mentioned. Hopefully they can get it fixed!

Well I got my truck back after a three day stay at the dealership and was told that this noise was normal. The tech was instructed to drive an F150 like mine from the lot, and he said it made the same noises I was complaining about. Disappointing to say the least. Not sure what to do about it at this point.

sammyba, mine was told to do the same thing. Trust me, it's not normal. They did drive another one just like mine and DID NOT hear the noise and pushed back at Ford. This is why I got frustrated. Four visits, 14 days of rental and they finally performed the TSB work and no longer do I have the noise.

Just keep pushing with them and don't quit. Good luck!

Well, this is disheartening. I am picking up my truck in Jan and the first thing I have to do is drive 2k miles...I really hope I don't have the same problem you all are. The really bad part is I didn't buy from a dealership...so any dealer I do take it to probably wont care as much. The good news is I know what to tell a dealership if it comes up.

Other than being really annoying (and getting PI(&# because of the $$ spent) is there any reason not to just drive it to my destination and have it checked? I have a tight timeline and really can't afford downtime halfway through the trip.

Hate to break it to you but really no dealer is going to care even if you buy it from them

Well, that's great news then...at least I wont have any dreams left to crush! :D I just meant that if you bought it from a dealership, you had a face to flick a booger at...without out one, my boogers can fly in any direction.

Hey sammyba,

Have you tried getting a second opinion from a different Ford Dealer? Shoot me a PM with your name, VIN, mileage, dealer, and best daytime phone number; I'll see how I can help.

Hey sgtredsox,

If you pick up your truck and find that you're experiencing issues, don't hesitate to reach out. I'd be more than happy to have a look.

I haven't yet, Nick. The GM at the dealership I went to said he was going to "look into it" for me. I'll give him a few days and then I will be in touch with you. Thank you for your offer to assist.

Thanks Nick. Do you know if the noise is more of an aggravation or do I need to halt my trip for repairs? It seems like it is more of an inconvienience until you get it into the shop.

Hey sgtredsox,

I'm not a trained tech, so I'm unable to advise. Your Ford Dealer's best to speak with about this.

Nick

Well dropping mine off Monday for TSB14-0134 finally can't wait to get rid of this noise

Finally got the TSB done!!
Found a great dealer to do it they ordered the parts as soon as I showed them my video of the noise and gave them the tsb#. This isn't the same dealer that put 5w/20 in my Eco twice which is who I was bringing it to last time I posted but anyhow just happy the noise is gone.

I have the same issue!!!

Okay so i guess no one knows what this could be, as of yesterday I started hearing the same noise when putting it into park and into drive. This morning when I got to work i put it in park and it started making the noise. I pulled out my camera and this is what I got. ( when i open my door you can hear a diesel engine in the back ground but when i put my phone under the fender you can hear it well, and then I open the hood and you can hear it and then all of a sudden it stopped.) any comments?? ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY! maybe this video will be enough to show the dealer if i go in.

I was was wondering if you have found out the issue because I have the same sound coming from my ecoboost?? It only happens occasionally and I don't experience any other issues other then the sound?? I have a 2013 with 13000 miles??? Thanks for sharing the video!! Now I know I'm not crazy!!!

I recently had TSB 14-0134 performed on my truck to fix the groaning noise, and I'm happy to report that the noise is gone. However, since the work has been performed my transmission has been operating at 30 to 40 degrees cooler than before. I use to see operating temps between 150 to 190 depending on driving conditions and exterior temps. Now I'm seeing temps around 120 to 150, but mostly right around 130. Also, it use to maintain temperature for a longer period of time. For example, if it is running at 130 and I pull up to a red light it will start falling and get down to 120 while I'm sitting at the light. The dealer that did the work said that this is nothing to worry about and that replacing this plate will cause the transmission to run cooler. Just wandering if anyone else that has had this work performed is experiencing the same thing, or if any of the ford service folks on here can comment. Thanks for your help!

I have several probs on my truck but I'm afraid to take it in for things like this. They fix one thing only to break something else.

You must be lucky most peoples trans run in the 200 degree range.

Save
I have to agree with the tran temperature. Since having the TSB performed my tranny temp runs cooler as well.
