What brand are the factory power running boards on the platinum and limited?

A guy locally is selling me his power running boards off his Platinum and all he has is the boards, mounts, and the bolts to install. I was wondering if anybody knew what brand they were so I could order the motor and all the electrical stuff that comes with it. Thanks!

This is correct. AMP research is the OE supplier to both Ford and GM. There are always a few minor cosmetic and/or function differences between what they can sell to the aftermarket vs what is supplied to Detroit. Same with the static running boards on the F150 and Silverado/Sierra which are made by Dee Zee.

OK, I had a deal on a set of factory running board before I bought my AMPS. I called AMP since I did not have any wiring. The tech told me they did originally design Fords power steps, however they opted to take the plans and send them to another company for mass production. I was also informed that the wiring you need to run Ford steps is nearly impossible to install, since they work off of the factory computer. He told me if they are not installed from the factory, don't mess with them. Sell the motors for parts. They do not have any harnesses to make Ford boards work. I decided to get new AMP boards.

Scap is right, they are the same as AMP with only cosmetic changes as far as I can tell. The motors should be the same.

So correct me if I'm wrong but all I need is the wires and the power source in the engine compartment that powers the boards??
