IMHO, y'all would be much happier with your investment by going with a retrofit from a reputable company. If you keep the retro simple, you can get away for under $800.
I have a lot of experience with these and other aftermarket heads (I'm a bit of a lighting fanatic), and none of the aftermarket companies really surpass the lighting output of the stock halogen lights. This is due to the fact that these lights are designed for aesthetics and not function. The light output of a retro fit easily justifies the extra cost. Seeing that deer/car up ahead a few seconds earlier could mean the lives of you and your passengers...
