I am surprised you cant get E30 to perform with no loss.......

I am sure you want to eventually run more than an E30 tune, so are you going with the full fuel system upgrade?
Yeah, we will see how things go

Well guys, things are getting interesting, exciting and irritating all at once.

Got an email from Torrie this morning… it’s leaning out on us again on E20 fuel.

Due to the lower elevation, I’m putting out more power with less boost and we are only dealing with 16-17 psi at the highest rpm where it’s going lean.

Torrie can lower boost, but I will lose power, not what I want to do. I want to gain power, not lose it.

Fuel pressure is good, but the injectors just can’t handle this ethanol.

At this rate, if I was at sea level with these turbos, running equivalent power and boost, 91 octane would be too much as well. I’d have to upgrade the injectors on 91 octane with 10% ethanol if I was at the equivalent power level I’m at now.

I’ll be taking donations for those XDI injectors! They are not cheap!!

Who knew the dense 5,000 ft elevation air would wreak such havoc! ;)

Just the latest hurdle, hope you keep going. Seems you have at least a good path.

I know right? The truck felt so fast up in Pagosa, but last week when I gave her the beans on east Arapahoe road, it took off so hard, it scared me.

Well, I’m glad you guys are so supportive, it’s awesome. I just hope and pray the motor holds strong. That would really destroy my life right now…

I am trying to get some sponsorships from XDI and a couple others right now… since the truck might break some gen 1 2.7 records, I want to give some companies the chance to have their products on this bad boy.

If this is the case, pull the tune off of it and keep your foot out of it until the finances whisper in your ear that they have recovered. Heck, winter is here anyway and Denver gets its fair share of snow.

Well, I mean, I could afford a new motor, but I don’t want to have to do that, nobody does. Where’s the fun in that!! The roads are dry as a bone today and it was 60 degrees! 😁

From what I read you're headed in a direction where a new motor is all but inevitable somewhere down the line. I'm not spreading fear and angst. It's just nice to expect the worst and should it happen the money is sitting there waiting for it. If it doesn't happen you've got the funds to do other fun things.

Very true. I am going to start a savings fund for a built motor.

Did you just hint at the “next project” a built motor? Or did I just read too much into it

That’s the long term plan yes

Here on Friday, December 2 2022 I'm calling it that you won't be able to kill the original motor. [emoji1787]

I hope you’re right, because I would not like to have to put a new motor in it.

There’s always the odd ball, but look how many trucks are out there pushing crazy power, running e85 and all, and I don’t hear about any that have blown up.

Well, the XDI injectors are ordered! Guess I’m moving to the next level with the truck. Next will be the High pressure and low pressure fuel pump, then you can be sure I’m going with full e85!
