While I'm no fan of the open vs closed full CAI intake, A twin tube offers some potential, bad or good and I have messed with my own style in the COBB intake I use and modified. View attachment 191900

I lost some performance with the cone, gained it all back and a bit more with the panel. KM

Yup I believe the twin tubes offer benefit, love my COBB intake and it closed filters

Hey folks,

Thought I’d throw an update here.

Truck is doing fine, no issues at all. She’s at 92,000 miles now and running strong on e50 and Torries tune cranking 520 wheel still.

Update on the Turbos:
I was sorta disappointed when I looked at the data from Torrie’s logs because it didn’t look any different than the Stage 4 turbos. It was showing 52lb/min with 20-22 psi of boost and on Adams tune with the stage 4s I had seen 52.5 lb/min with 22.5 psi. So basically the same. After mulling that over in my mind for a few weeks I thought of something and checked the log again. I was looking specifically at engine RPM this time. When I looked I saw Torrie had the limiter capped around 6100, but the tune was making its max power at 6000 and tapering off for the shift. The Custom turbos were making 52lb/min at 600rpm less than the stage 4s did. And no, that wasn’t because boost is higher on the custom turbos, the stage 4 actually had boost laid into it from much lower rpm, like 4000 and then held 22.5 all the way to 6600 rpm. The custom turbos spike to 22 psi for a brief second at the high rpm, (6000 on this tune) and level off at 20 in the lower rpm’s. Obviously I missed that part, and then realized how much of a difference these turbos are. I can’t imagine if we brought rpm to 6600 again, it would probably make over 60lb/min, on just 22 psi. The stage 4s made 45lb/min at the same rpm I’m at with the custom turbos. So, by increasing 600 rpm the stage 4s gained 7lb/min.


Little story for yall, I pulled up to a light recently and there was a loud BMW 440i next to me. It was all fancied up, with nice wheels and aftermarket exhaust. I anticipated a race, but wasn’t sure. When we left the light I was ahead, only giving it half throttle. (Torrie’s tune only gives 9 psi of boost and limited torque and power until I go WOT) I heard his BMW and he was in my blind spot and I knew he was coming after me. So I floored it and I spun (I’m an idiot, I forgot to put 4x4 on) and it pulled power for a second then hooked and I was ahead of him for quite some time then he gradually started pulling past me, not by a ton though. He looked over at me and his face was so priceless. He looked very surprised. I wish I could have pulled over and showed him all the tools in my back seat. His car was definitely tuned because stock, those don’t make a ton of power. His lightweight car pulling past me a bit didn’t surprise me. Considering how much my truck weighs in comparison, my engine is making a lot more power than his car. I came to the next light and a random guy pulled up next to me and rolled down his window and yelled “you almost had him!” I laughed and said, “well, I wish I could have thrown all my tools and extra weight out of here and run it back!”
