If you look by the starter and the oil pan bolt here you’ll see a crack in the block. She went out hard I think

Well then lol, you did good! Thats what you call goin out with a bang🤣. But that does stink and sorry to hear that the al-mighty 2.7 has decided self destruct. Knowing you youll have it fixed in no time and on to the next achivement you are wanting to do!

Yeah it stinks. I told my buddies, “tell me I’m dreaming right now” but of course I knew I wasn’t. It’s a bummer, but it is what it is. And yeah, I’ll fix it.

I don't know if I ever told you before, but my original engine grenaded at 22k miles. Exactly like you described. EXACTLY the same situation. Went full throttle, sounded like throwing a five gallon bucket of bolts into a wood chipper! Had almost the exact same windows in the block in the exact same locations. Picked up pieces of the pistons from the road. I was tuned by 5 Star on E85 at the time. Stock everything except the tune. Not saying their tune did it at all...Point being, I wasn't making near the power we are at the time but it still exploded. Luckily I had a buddy at a Ford dealer and they warrantied the whole thing. Even replaced turbos and intercooler. Metal contamination was everywhere. Chunks of aluminum and steel all in the charge pipes, intercooler, turbos, intake manifold, etc... It was so bad, there was no way to flush it out. It was melted into the plastic intake surfaces. Thats what concerns me with yours. Those brand new big custom turbos....and all the other collateral damage.

Wow. Amazing. I am going to send the turbos to Turbobay. He gave me lifetime warranty. So it should cover him looking them over.

Did you have a 2.7 as swell?

I'd say that's what yours is gonna look like. It's curious that I chose to push this new engine as far as I have after experiencing such a failure, when you think about it. The new engine has more tuned miles and abuse on it than the original did.
The original might have just had some weak metal.

I am very sorry to hear! That EMS block could be a possibility:)))) If it wasn't for you, I would've never heard about Jesse and probably wouldn't be going the route I am, so thank you.
Best of luck in whatever you decide to do and go with. Although, would be sweet if you really started to push the limits and built a motor for it!

Duuuude!!
Very sorry to hear this, but I gotta say you seem to be handling it like a champ!

And you definitely educated a lot of people on what is possible- and now, what isn’t - on the 2.7.

I also won’t be surprised when you arr back up & running in a week. Can’t wait to see what’s next!

Didnt take long to start tearing that engine down, wonder what caused it to go?

Do you guys think it’s wiser to do the motor myself in a parking lot with limited tools and an engine hoist or have a shop do it?
