Problem with a lot of the other colors is unless you get a cool trim level, it’s got tons of chrome on it.

That was my biggest issue looking for a new truck. So many had chrome packages. My old tuxedo black truck had almost no chrome at all from the factory. It was a LOT of work.

Yeah, I do not want any chrome. Because if I end up with chrome, I’ll be deleting all of it.

It’s looking like my best option is an XL or XLT with STX Appearance package or Sport package is my best bet for getting no chrome. But I’m so picky. I want a console, not the flip up jump seat. I want no chrome, I want a 3.5L non power boost, and I want a 3.55 rear end, though that is not a deciding factor.

I ended up with a lariat 502a FX4. Most of the chrome was already gone and it had 99% of the options I wanted. I did look at some 2017+ raptors but the milage to price ratio wasn't to my liking.

It just gave out. I told Torrie. I don’t think it was the tune. The tune was fine for months.

I just ordered a 2022 XLT with 47k miles from Carmax. It’s a sport package and is so nice looking in the pics. I’ll test drive it Monday or Tuesday next week.

Down on power, MPGs, strange noises, etc.?

Or was everything fine, right up until the instant it wasn't?

It seemed fine up until it blew. It made 48Lb/min on the pull when it blew. However I did notice it seemed a tad down on power maybe? It may have just been me psyching out. It used to make 52lb/min on every pull and it seemed the last four pulls it barely broke 50 lb/min but sometimes it would be all over the place.
Airflow could have been very off actually, since the turbine was even bigger, but there’s no telling. For all I know it could have been making 600 wheel I don’t know. All I know is it was fast and it was kinda scary.

Ya the 2.7 is a beast but making almost 2.3x more power than stock is probably going to grenade any engine but especially a smaller displacement one.

I think I've seen some people say 500 whp Is the limit for the 2.7 and it sounds about right.

I know some people are making 600 whp on the newer 3.5 but imo they're playing with fire
