Taking in my 2015 2.7 ecoboost to the dealer. 99.9% sure its the oil pan. 80k miles, still under extended mile warranty or I'd be trading this for a non Ford product(Toyota). Plastic oil pan is BS.

Why is it bs? It’s the way things are going. As a diesel mechanic I see composite pans all the time of the big 15-16L engines. Less to rust. Save weight.
My 2015 2.7 pan leaked also. It took 2 tries for the dealer to properly fix it. Have the dealer if possible, get a new pan, and use the latest ford specified adhesive.
Mine was leaking where the oil pan was glued to the engine block. From what I understood from the service technician, is there is only adhesive sealer between the pan and block. No oil pan gasket is used.
There is no gasket from my understanding. I'm pretty sure there is a TSB out on the problem. Any way I took it to the dealer and they "fixed" it. Then not even a week later I noticed the oil spot in front of my house is going larger lol. It has to go back. When my 3 year old business truck goes down for 3 day I'm pissed off. This is the second time this truck has been down. First time was for over a week with less than 1000 miles in it.
That does suck man!! . I am seeing a lot of this though?, No? . I’m suprized someone hasn’t made an (steel or alum) aftermarket oil pan to pick up the slack from fords plastic **** pan!.
But here is the thing, the leak was being absorbed by the diaper(cover) under the oil pan. How many other trucks are out there with this same problem and they don't even know about it? I drive over 30k miles a year and do my own oil changes.
I'm driving a 2018 F150 2.7 EcoBoost. Oil pan just changed again for the second time this year. Now its leaking again. Working so many hours I dont have time to take it in. Last time they had it one whole week. I will be filing a complaint. Leaked two oil changes ago and again a couple of weeks ago.......
