I just switched from running 93 for the last four fill ups back to 87 to save a few bucks, also went from 93 to 87 tune. I dropped from 19 local to 18 and did notice the truck ran a tad smoother and quieter on the 93. Not sure if it is worth the extra 40+ $.00/gallon though.

Thanks for replies...Was curious as I run a 93 tune on my Fusion with some other upgrades and I receive +2-3 mpg and much better engine response and feel. Of course the 2.0l is a baby compared to the 3.5l...

thanks

Towing my pop up nets me around 15 MPG don't forget my 3.31 gears. Likes 5th gear most unless she's flat real flat. Didn't see much difference in towing with tow haul on so I drove to camp using it on and off and on the ride home I kept it on the whole way. I like using it like the way it shifts better. 3000+- pop up.

3.73 gears 50/50 on hwy/cty. Last fill up was 19.8 MPG. 30,000 miles on truck.

Took 110 mile trip oneway then changed tune then went back sameway. Half was highway and other was backroads: 93 per got 18.1 mpg on highway and 93 per/tow got 17.5 on highway but 93 per/tow got 19.1 on backroads the. 93 per got 17.6. If there's any kind of backups on highway or big hills the 93 per will eat up gas so per/tow Would be better because per tune uses a lot of fuel when excelerating from stop. The per/tow in my opinion is better all around on highway because you can never guess on traffic jams on long trips and The throttle seemed more responsive at lower rpm's also.h

Just in the 3 days I've had my truck back I think I've flashed it 8 times lol, keep going back and fourth between 91 Perf and 91 P/T, I agree though on the P/T tunes, that's what's in my truck now, gonna leave it for a while, need to let the truck at least adjust/settle in for the tune. My tunes before I got strategy code changed would bark tires in 2nd gear, these ones don't, hopefully after it dose learn it'll do it again, if not I'm going to ask them to firm up the shift from 1st to 2nd, it's smooth now and could be a little firmer.

Just did 900 km round trip from home to Banff and back (with a little running around Banff), one tank. Hiway 2 and then Hiway 1 west was minimum 130km/hr (80mph) just to keep up with traffic. Average on the trip was 12.9 /100km (18.4 US MPG, 22 imperial MPG). I'll take that with a max tow, 3.73 axle truck any day.

Factory mpg meter IS accurate

I ran a test to verify the mpg meter in the dash. I ran a whole tank if gas through and fully refilled. I did the math and it was an exact match to what the dash was displaying. The truck with the dash display is to make sure and reset it at each fillup. I drive with that screen on all the time anyway so that I can see what the green bar is doing.

With all this said, i ran another test. I monitored a tank if gas with the Motorcraft paper air filter versus my Green Filter. I found that the Green Filter is worth 1.5 mpg on my driving pattern. That filter will pay itself back pretty quick!

drove from Memphis TN to Nashville TN this morning averaging ~21.5-22 mpg. I'm happy with that.

What is this green filter you speak of?

It is just an aftermarket air filter. I have come to love their product after my first great experience on my 2010 Cadillac CTS-V. I had an AirRaid CAI on that car and swapped to the green filter rather than the K&N. We saw a difference on the dyno and further tests by others in the CTS-V world verified it was the best flowing filter out there. So, i run one on all my vehicles.

Thanks for for the link! I watched a bunch of their vids, and my filter is on it's way.

I average 15.5mpg around town, mostly at 25mph. When I drove to Tahoe and back in July it averaged 23mpg going about 80-85mph for 5-6 hours. This was on stock 20" wheels and Scorpions. I'll track how it does with the Fuel/Toyo combo and report back in a couple weeks.

Over 14,000 miles on my truck and still only getting about 12 mpg in mostly city driving. Best I can do on the open road is about 18 driving less than 70 mph.
