I'm a huge fan of Amsoil. But with the oil dilution issues and the fact your paying all that extra money to be able to run it for much higher change intervals, it just doesn't make sense to spend all that money when I can run Mobil-1 and change at normal intervals.
This ^^^^^^

Mobil 1 is good oil, Amsoil is the best. Make sure you are getting Mobil 1 EP though.... so I don't have to go to the hell hole known as Walmart

What mileage did you determine was the needed change interval with Amasol? I got lost in some of the verbiage.

Royal Purple with Mobil 1 filter here.

I've been running Shell Rotella T6 5w-40.
Truck seems to love it.
Engine guts still looked brand new when I had my valve covers off two weeks ago.
Good to know! I have been running T6 myself for a long time now. Read good things off the Bob oil forum.

Currently Castrol Edge 5w-30 with Fram Tough Guard.

Next three oil changes will be German Castrol 0w-40 with Fram Ultra Synthetic filters.

That's the combo that started the rattling on startup with my engine... Those fram filters are junk so are the anti drain back valves in them.

Mine is silent on start up and only the injectors can be heard when idling. The ADBV on the Tough Guard is silicone and works just fine, quality filter in function and design.

Sorry it didn't work out for you but my experience for 3k now is completely contrary to yours.

hmm interesting, and yes you guys are right. its is specifically on the cap. I'll inquire this with my original service guy on Mon. looking at my first change it was 5/30. I think the tech F*ucked up and gonna have then redo it.

I'm with you, I've always been told Fram is junk.
To each their own though. I buy my OEM's at Ford by the case, the last one cost me $4.50 a filter.
Ya, that is cheap the guy screwed up when he quoted me the price but they honored it.
FYI for anyone running stock air filter, look into Hastings. The filter is almost twice as think as the OEM. More surface area, better filtration, better air flow.

Ford Oem filter is actually cheaper and better quality...

Again, Ford filters are really good. The only thing better is mobil 1 EP and Amsoil. Royal Purple makes a good one too. The only reason they are better over OEM is that the material is synthetic.

Not true, the Fram Tough Guard filters have a higher efficiency rate than the MC and their build quality is good including a silicone ADBV. Do not confuse the Tough Guard and Ultra Synthetic filters with the the Fram Extended Guard (otherwise know incorrectly as the Orange Can of Death). I would agree that the MC filter is better than the Extra Guard, but it is not a better filter than the Tough Guard and nowhere near the filter that the Ultra Synthetic is.

People believe what they will believe. I know what I am using works and provides equal or greater protection than the OEM Motorcraft filters and oil.
