Well guys the day finally has come. I blew the motor today.
I went half throttle from a light then floored it. It shuddered for a second not sure why, then I heard parts flying all over like rocks hitting the underside of the truck. I saw smoke out the back and my friend was behind me. I quickly pulled over almost instantly and shut the engine off. I don’t think it was running at that point. My friend immediately called me and said there was parts flying out the back. There is two holes in the block that I can see on the passenger side and a hole on the driver side. I’m really sad but not surprised. And I don’t have a solution yet. But I will.

I am sure you’re disappointed that this chapter has this ending; but this doesn’t have to be the final chapter! A solution will present itself soon, I hope.

I hope. My plan currently is to put a used motor in it. Sell all my aftermarket parts to offset the new motor and then sell the truck and buy a 21+ 3.5L

I like how you think bro, but dang, I feel for you brother....... Chin up and next chapter!

Well dang, hoped you’d skate the line longer. Hopefully some parts survived.

OOOPS! I think you were prepared somewhat for the possibility. No regrets and life goes on, but it was a good ride. Best on the fix and possible upgrade! KM

From what I read you're headed in a direction where a new motor is all but inevitable somewhere down the line. I'm not spreading fear and angst. It's just nice to expect the worst and should it happen the money is sitting there waiting for it. If it doesn't happen you've got the funds to do other fun things.

Oh I knew you were right. Just was hoping it would last a bit longer. But hey, what a piece of engineering ford made so that it can withstand 300 horsepower above stock and repeated abuse for several years.

Yep that’s true. I wasn’t necessarily ready, but it happened on a day when everything was just right and I have to say, thank God. My truck is my only means of transportation. So having it blow up is not good. I can’t get to work. However my dad is coming to Denver and then heading on a trip for three weeks and leaving his truck with me. So I have wheels now. And when the motor blew, my buddy was behind me in an expedition and he towed me home. Everything worked out. The beast is home and she’s safe. She’s hurt but she’s safe.

I was hoping so too. It’s a fair warning to others though, to be careful. I will probably make a YouTube video on it.

Yep. Can’t be sour about it and stressed. It is what it is. I definitely think I’m going to get rid of it after I’d fix it. It’s been a great truck, but has 96k on it now and I’m ready for something new.
