Well I may have done a thing...

Bittersweet to see the old truck go, but really excited to start a new build! Ended up finding a killer deal on this lightly used (15k miles) 2018 F-150 Lariat 501A 3.5L FX4.

Mods incoming soon ;)

Picked up a set of BNIB Bilstein 5100s from craigslist for $125!!! Now to decide if I’m going to attempt the install myself. I did the 2.5” strut spacer on my 2014, but not sure how I feel about compressing the strut springs. Planning to set these at the top 2.1” setting.

Thanks for the side shot!

I loved your previous truck. Voted for it perpetually.
But I have the pleasure of riding in multiple Gen2 trucks at various trim levels and I know for a fact that sitting in the cockpit of that Lariat Sport exudes engineering progress.

Nicely played. Every once in a while we just need a fresh canvas to work from

New LED headlight bulbs installed today. Looks 100x better than the factory halogen bulbs. Eventually I want to upgrade to OEM LEDs or the Morimoto headlights, but that will be a ways down the road. Can’t wait to test them out tonight when it gets dark!

Have a part number to those lights? And what was the result on the road tonight?

We will just have to see with time. I lowered the headlight beam last night. Diode Dynamics has their SL1 kit for halogen housings but couldn’t justify the $250 for lights I’m going to take out in a year. I will report back after I’ve run them for a while.

Good one! I’ve been contemplating a new username, but haven’t come up with one I’m happy with quite yet.

Man, that looks like a nice truck. Is it is a 2014, why does it have ecoboost badge on the side like 11/12?

Did you by chance keep the lower grill insert? I will buy it from you

Thanks! It is a 2014. Your Tremor along with the FX4/FX2 appearance package models only have the tailgate Ecoboost badge. All other models 11-14 have the door badges and no tailgate badge.

Unfortunately, the lower grill insert went with the truck when I sold it.

I meant to also include, why did you sell it?

Dang That insert would have been easily pop out!
I know man, the new truck was kind of a spur of the moment thing and I removed everything I could transfer to the new truck and left what I couldn’t. Ultimately, I wanted to get into something newer and with a warranty. Around 70k miles I had the timing chain replaced out of pocket. I wasn’t looking to go through that again sometime down the road and began to have some miscellaneous electrical issues so I traded it in at 100k miles. I’d been watching the market and ended up finding this new truck with 15k miles for $37k OTD. While I loved the white truck, this new one is every bit as refined and then some.

If you paid to fix the timing chain, should have kept it till it died!

I am at 58000, 5.5 old. No timing noise to date.

Best of luck on the new truck.

I really wish he hadn't shown that AllWhiteEco glamor shot. It's a toss up between his and blownF150's for my all time favorite previous bodystyle truck.

Blown's for that off-road prowess look.
AllWhites for that valet parking look.

Killer trucks, the both.

New vs Old

Image

Output Picture, Fogs Only

Install was pretty straight forward. Worst part is taking out the OEM lights, once those are out the new ones pop right in. I would recommend taking out 3 bolts and 1 twist lock to pull back the fender liner for more access. On the second light, I did this method and it was much easier to get the old out and went way faster.

Review: Much brighter than the OEM fog lights. Beam pattern is very wide providing more coverage to the sides. Not quite as bright as the Rigid Industries fog lights on my last truck, but that’s a whole different price point. Overall, I’m really satisfied with the look and output for the money. I’ll post updates if I ever have any issues down the road.

I think your bulbs and fog lights might be added to my list of things to get, after i install my COBB Intake and COBB Coolant Tank Cover

Thanks my Man!

After some night driving time with the new lighting setup, I’m really impressed! No flashes from other drivers yet. High beams throw lots of usable light way down the road. Fog lights are now a great compliment to the low beams, with a wide 45 degree beam pattern shining to the sides of the road on top of providing more coverage in front of the truck.
