I will keep y’all updated. I dropped the truck off at lunch, then received a call later in the afternoon telling me they wouldn’t be able to do it today because their “strut” guy wasn’t working until Friday. I ended up rescheduling the installation for next week. After sitting on this leveling kit for a few months, I’m ready to get it installed!

That sucks. Why didn't they tell you he wasn't there when you dropped it off? That would make me mad. Good luck.

So a lot has happened in the last week. A storm came through on Friday and wiped our power out for 3 days. The power surge fried the power wire from our thermostat to the HVAC, so when our power was finally restored on Memorial Day we still had no A/C. Because of the holiday, we couldn’t get it fixed until yesterday. Had to put a hold on the leveling kit installation to deal with all of this craziness. Good news is that we are back to 100% now!

About that small mod I mentioned before...

My truck came equipped with the mirror spot lamps. I really liked the concept, but in stock form the practicality of this feature is neutered by a 5mph speed limiter that will disengage the lights. This mod disables that speed limiter and allows me to use them at any speed. This adapter was only $45~ and can restore it to stock function in minutes.

Why do you want them on while driving? Hopefully you aren't looking at the ground under your mirrors while on the highway.

You are confusing the mirror spot lights with the puddle lamps. The mirror spot lights are 4 led lights in the turn signal housing on the side of the mirror that illuminate the side of the truck. Puddle lamps are the lights under the mirror that shine on the ground. I wanted to remove the speed limiter for my mirror spot lights for rural driving in areas without any traffic. Usually lower speeds around 20-40 mph on gravel roads.

I don't think I know those existed. I will have to check mine out tomorrow.

These are the controls for this feature. That’s the easiest way to identify if you have them or not.

They are AWESOME and way more functional than one might think. I light them up when coming home or leaving at night. They light up the woods on both sides and I can spot some interesting wild life that's sharing the earth with me.

I think they shut off at around 5 mph. So driveway speed is the only time I can use them, other than when parked. That really is a cool idea!

Okay, yeah I have them. After looking at them I think I thought they were the puddle lamps. Maybe I should read the manual.

More importantly we probably need a write up on where you got the part and how to install it.

I updated the original post about this mod with a link to where I purchased it. The guy who makes these has a pretty sick ecoboost build himself. @2016BoostedGreyGoose is his handle. He used to be active on this forum but has moved his attention over to the other f150 forum. If you browse his website, you will see that he has a lot of great wiring solutions for people looking to add OEM features to their F150 (LED headlight swap harnesses, Raptor wheel swap, etc.)

No way anyone could forget his build.

It's first class and truly an individual expression of an F150. He has a pretty big Instagram following, though I have barely peeked at it.

I was not able to find the thread you reference. So if you think about it I would appreciate a link. Thanks in advance.

PS. I did find one where it talked about removing the number two pin and putting a jumper from pin one to pin two.
