I ordered my Tracer 3200 BHT last week and it should be here in a couple weeks!! 36' 9", 7500#s dry, 767#s hitch weight. I am going to install the Roadmaster Active Suspension and EAZ-LIFT WDH. I will post pics as soon as I get it!

Nice truck and trailer. Friend of mine had that exact trailer.

How long is that bad boy soulfly7? It looks like it would be a beast to turn a corner with.

I'm not sure if it is the angle of the picture or what, but you look like you are riding pretty nose high. Do you have any sway problems?

The total length from back to the tongue is about 37'. I don't have a lot of towing experience so I don't have anything to gauge against but yeah I guess it's not easy to turn. I just swing it nice and wide and choose my routes carefully. It's worse trying to park in my driveway.

I have W/D hitch with a single sway bar. I towed in the Northern Georgia a couple weeks ago and have no issues. It towed real nice. I'm very happy with the truck. The real test will be in a month when we go down to South Florida and then up to New England in the summer. Any suggestions on getting it leveled out a bit more? I've read a lot about new springs or even bags. I just don't want to drop a ton of money.

I am by no means a towing expert. But I have read a lot on this subject and am pretty sure that most recommendations for a trailer this size would be for a Weight-Distributing High with integrated sway control vs. the friction bar like you have.
I would look at an Equalizer 4 (this is what I have for my 32' TT), or a Reese Dual Cam WDH as they are the most popular out there.

For more expert opinions, I would suggest starting a thread on the following forum:
Travel Trailer Discussion - iRV2 Forums

There are lots of experts there that will confirm or disaffirm my recommendation.

Either way that is a pretty sweet looking rig you have there!

I would love the to have that platform on the front, but I would be worried about the tongue weight on a half-ton truck. The max tongue weight on my 2013 Platinum w/Max Tow is 1,130 pounds.

I am by no means the weight police. But just throwing a couple of things out there for you to think about and maybe check into further.

Yeah the cargo deck is awesome. I haven't towed with my two motorcycles up there yet tho. I have the 1130# hitch as well. The trailer is 5600# dry and has a 9400# GVWR. Even if I did load up to the 9400# I'd still be withing the hitch limits. Close but should be good. Thanks for info too.

I think you may be confusing Trailer Tow Limits and Hitch Limits. Your Trailer Tow Limit (if it is a 4X4) is most likely 11,100lbs since it looks like you have the Max Tow package (based on your signature). But your Receiver Hitch Weight (tongue weight) is the 1,130 pounds that we have talked about.

My point has been that I think your tongue weight of 1,130 could be an issue way before the Max Trailer Towing Limit or the GVWR.

I am guessing that a trailer like yours with the cargo deck is designed with more weight in the back of the trailer to offer a lower tongue weight. You typically want your tongue weight to be 10%-15% of the trailer weight. Unloaded this would put the recommended Hitch Weight at 560-840lbs.

But, even if your tongue weight is 500lbs (just guessing). Add the weight of your WDH, two full propane tanks, a battery, and a motorcycle or two onto the cargo deck, you will hit the 1,130lb Max Tongue Weight pretty fast.
My 32' TT is 6600 dry with 958lbs of tongue weight and I am most likely just under my max or even a hair over the 1,130 Max Tongue Weight.

I hear you and I understand the all the weight ratings. I know I'll likely max out hitch cap. before payload cap. What I'm trying to say is that even if I loaded the trailer to it's max GVWR of 9400 pounds and the TT was designed properly, 9400# at 12% is roughly 1130#. Of course an important part of how the percentage is calculated is based on distribution of the load. Even taking 15% of my motorcycles sitting on the cargo deck and all the gear I'm near the hitch cap. but shouldn't exceed. If I did, it wouldn't be by much. I'm a worry-wart, so I've crunched a lot different numbers with different scenarios and all should be good.

I have been thinking about just grabbing a tongue scale and checking the load.

It sounds like you have a pretty good handle on the numbers. Good luck with the upcoming camping season!

This will be my first season with my camper and the F150.

I towed with a 2011 Avalanche prior to the F-150. It towed "OK", but the shorter wheel base and the car-like suspension were not adequate in my mind. I am cautiously optimistic as to how much better I am hoping the F150 will tow my trailer this camping season.
