I like them all actually. I might take my badges off and throw a single black one on the tailgate like on the 15+

I installed SYNC 3 and a factory back up camera a few weekends ago. Have to take the system apart to plug in the camera so might as well upgrade to sync 3 while at it. Been testing it and it works great. Solder into the backup lights at the BCM inside the cab so no worry about weather issues.

APIM from a 2018 F150 and Screen from a 2017 Edge. Since it is a 2018 APIM, I will be able to install a factory wireless charging dock in the future. Sync 3 is nice for a few reasons. The USB actually charges your phone unlike Sync 2. It is cleaner interface and voice command is better. You have numerous apps that will work for now. The main ones are android auto, apple car play, pandora and spotify. Pandora(pictured below) will work via blue tooth (at least on android) and with android auto or apple car play, you can use google maps or waze directly on the screen. You can pinch zoom and everything and just tell the system what address to go to.

I got this kit PRE PROGRAMMED from a guy I was recommended to. It is significantly cheaper than anything you'll find on line and because it is pre programmed, it makes life a hell of a lot easier. If you find these parts yourself and use Forscan to program, there are a lot of line items to change.

If you are SERIOUSLY interested, i can provide you with his email and pricing. I will not post in open.

Funny story, I had 911 assist permanently disabled and text in motion enabled. I guess because of this, it thought I was overseas and would only offer English with a British accent. So for the time being, I just reversed that to have normal English.

My truck is non TREMOR + package, however the dealer installed and programmed a trailer brake controller when new. TREMOR + package was trailer brake control, tailgate step with plastic extender(ew) and back up camera.

So I am officially naming this package the TREMOR ++ package. TREMOR ++ was an exclusive option, no crappy plastic tail gate, it is all bed liner for a clean look, trailer brake control, back up camera, remote start and exclusive testing of SYNC 3 before it came to market for Ford.

So back to oil we go.

Last sample i did was in fall of 2017, i went 7920 miles on Amsoil 5-30 and filter, oil checked out great on all reporting, including a 10.1 viscosity and 3.29 TBN. 5-30 SS starts at 10.2 viscosity.

This change now was 7260, viscosity 10.2 and TBN 5.35. This mileage includes mini trips, idling periods, winter weather, fall, rain, dragracing etc.

The oil life monitor in truck reads 10% when i get around 7500 miles, this is pretty accurate for me.

With my testing just showing 5.35 TBN and the rest of oil good, i bet i could have hit 10k if i really wanted to try. I am tempted to try but also not. Better to just change the oil. Maybe this time around ill go 8500 and re test, see what we are at, although this oil will be ran through summer. What do you think is harder on oil guys, winter or summer heat?

My point is, on good oil and properly maintained eco, you can run 7500 miles easy.
Very nice UOA. Sounds like the 5w-30SS is doing you good! I just switched to Rotella T6 5w-40 and see how that does for me. I was using Pennzoil Platinum but saw how thin it is and wanted something thicker that I can get easily around town. I tried the SS and my truck did not like it. I will run this 5k and get a UOA then go from there.

You tried amsoil and it did not like it? What does that mean?

Thank you sir.

When I had 5w-30 SS in every time I started it I would have timing chain noise. As soon as I changed oil to another brand it was gone. Only oil I had that noise with was Amsoil 5w-30. I tried with OEM oil filter and with wix. Had it both times. Didn't want to go through the hassle of shipping so I found another suitable brand for now. A funny thing, the same behavior was exhibited on my 2011 eco too with amsoil. Not knocking it because I use their products on everything I can. I just didn't like that noise lol

Every start up it would? Weird. That noise is a flaw as you know, the only part oil plays in it is keeping your VCT phasers clean and in good order but if the chain stretches then it doesn't matter. Weird you never had it again. Motorcraft filter is great filter and good anti drain back. T6 Rotella is a good oil, extra additives for diesels and supposed to stand up to fuel dilution better from it's "design."

It was really weird. Both trucks had it. It was enough for me to say nope lol. Im actually kind of sad. I really love my amsoil :/ I MAY..MAY try the 0w-40 and see how she likes it if T6 gets difficult to find or more expensive. I tried to eliminate all oddities and I think it was just the oil. The Motocraft filter is a purolator, which have mixed reviews with the tearing issues. I found the wix is just as good since I keep my OCIs to around 5k now. I think after this switch to T6 im gonna try to get an analysis done and see how the T6 does.

I would advise everyone to use motorcraft only, unless you are upgrading to an expensive syn filter. Motorcraft is built well, good anti-drain back, very cheap and found everywhere. There are a number good syn upgrades and built well but a lot more money. Amsoil is one of them.

On a side note. I really do like the Sync3 you put in. How does it feel to be a beta tester for Tremor++?? lol
Finally, you got a backup camera! Think of all the spots you are going to reverse into now!

I can tell how close I am based on how tight the reverse lights get using side mirror, however i need a wall for that obviously. This camera helps out when backing near a car and that's about it so far lol. Now i dont have to get out and check.

Ordered "gt/raptor" turbos from Ford Performance before they change their dealer programs. $2035 shipped, retail is 2900. AND Ford sells their kit with all the gaskets you need, I just need to order downpipe studs and a few other things separately.

Through the dealership. However as I mentioned, Ford Performance is changing dealer packages and what not starting in April so prices will probably go up. I waited till the last day, lol.

Some big chuck of metal or something (not a rock)flew off the car in front of me today driving to work, hit right on the Ford logo of the windshield and instantly cracked it half way down the window :(

I think I will just pay out of pocket. 2 places quotes 445 for Factory Ford, another guy I was recommended says 390.

I guess it's better it hit the windshield and not the body, probably would have been a lot more money to fix that....

That sucks, EXACT same thing happened to me last week. I will only do OEM carlite glass.

I’m gonna wait till they sweep all the streets though.

I’m also seriously considering getting the “exo shield” once I swap it.

@admin. The last post I can see in this thread is from 2/20/2019. I know I’ve seen posts in this thread since then. There has to be a fix for this problem. If it can be fixed a thread at a time then there’s a solution to stop it from happening. I’m sorry to be a whiner but I get emails showing me there’s a new post. I can read portions of it in my email and then come here and run into this. Bet theirs a few software engineers on this forum that could solve the problem.
