What wonderful news! Notice any difference in power down low, spool time, throttle/ transient response, etc? In for data logs...

Great write up and glad you got them swapped out in a day.

I must have had luck on my side, I did them in my garage with manifolds in about 7 hours.

No (so far) to all your responses. Data logs look good right now. Will go out this weekend to be able to do more WOT, then up power a little more. We will see.

You are talented. But for the average guy reading this, triple that time atleast. Anytime I see any quote for install time on the internet, I say always double it. Especially for those knuckle heads that claim they install long tube header in 2 hours on their back.

We initially discussed removing the cab to do this install, looking back, I would do this way. It is relatively simple to do and Ford built trucks to do this, with easy connects in the engine bay, not that much to disconnect.

This would allow you to do all fiitting, block, back of head, install hard lines precsiely and torque everything exactly. If you have access to a two post lift, you may want to consider this path.

I can post up some data logs I have now if you want also, but we(boostking) will be doing some layovers when everything is done to show difference. That will be interesting!

Another comment, my PTP turbo blankets ripped apart. The original ones had a two piece design, with a small flap sewn on. The threads ripped out. I called them and they are currently testing a one piece design that will fit both the vacuum waste gate and new electronic waste gates and are going to send me them free even though I am past warranty. Stand up company. Will post pics on them compared to old when they ship in a few months.

Fun, never seen those ones before. Good news on the support, curious to see those too.

Check page 5, view from underneath. Looking in from side, it covered it all. New ones are supposed to cover better.

I also didnt see any change in the butt dyno with the manifolds.

It also took me longer than 7 hours. Granted, basically everything under my truck was coated in an inch of dried concrete mud, so i spent the first day chipping that **** out trying to get the downpipes undone. The easiest part of the job for me honestly was the removal of the stock manifolds lol.

I agree that lifting the cab is probably the way to go if you have the option. The biggest issue with the hole job is clearance and getting the wrenches where they need to be.

I will say that I was hustling though, not much for breaks and only really dealt was the waterline on the backside of the drivers turbo. It just didn’t want to come out of the jiffy right fitting.

Another item I did while working, I coated the trans lines that run under the rad to the front cooler in fluid film. Some people have had corrosion of these and caused leaks.

Truck running good. Adding a little more boost and small timing bump....should be at 8 or 9 now. Wish I could have @Blown F-150 20!

So now that the battery is about 5.5 years old and in use for a little over 5 years, I decided to upgrade before it shits out. It is holding charge fine and cranks the truck right up no hesitation. I think I could have got another year out of it easily I believe, but want to play safe than sorry. It treated me well and never had any issues, factory motorcraft. BMS always plugged in. Thank you for your service battery!

I researched what to replace it with and the best was Northstar or Odyssey. Northstar makes X2 Power for battery plus. They had a 20% discount so I pulled the trigger.

Northstar is proudly made in the USA.

The stats are it is AGM, deep cycle, 930 cold crack amps, 1070 crank amp and 5 year warranty.

FORD BLUE battery!
I'm on my 2nd Optima red top, 1st one was replaced under warranty less than a year ago. The truck goes into battery saver mode more and more frequently already. I think I hate em.

I had the same issue with that jiffy fitting and tube in the block. Had to bend the bracket a bit to make sure it was pushing in all the way. I did my manifold over the course of 2-3 days. It was a weekend job for me. Good stuff man, congrats!

I never once had a battery saver mode on factory battery. ZERO ISSUES. Optima is not what it once was if you do a quick search. They moved production to mexico and started cheaping out on items, those batteries are junk. I pay more to never have a problem. If this battery has a problem, I am making them drive a replacement to me.

As in leaking or did you pull it out and the raised edge was not even in the fitting? As I said, passeneger is fixed, driver we literally put a 1 foot screw driver to it and hammered it, lol.

I don't remember which side, I just remember that the bracket was hitting the block/screw hole, look at the tube and it's not seated in the fitting all the way. So I had to bend the bracket so there was more forward motion on the tube before the bracket would run against the block. I think a better way to get this tube seated is to seat the tube in the fitting on the block first, with the tube slightly hanging down so the bracket isn't against the block, then swing it up, put the turbo on and push the turbo end in when bolting the turbo in place. The manual has you do the turbo end first, which in retrospect may not be the best approach.
